Dr Cal Armstrong BSc, PhD - recently deceased
Managing Director

Cal Armstrong sadly passed away on September 8th, 2009. He graduated in geology from Manchester University in 1965 and from the University of Western Ontario in 1969. After a period of work in Canada and Australia, he became Chief Geologist for British Nuclear Fuels, selecting targets for their worldwide uranium exploration programme. He was Managing Director of A C A Howe International Limited in the UK from 1978 until his recent death.

John Langlands BSc, FGS, FAusIMM, FIMMM, CEng
Principal Geologist, Director

John Langlands graduated in geology at the University of Edinburgh in 1969 and worked in mineral exploration for two years with BHP in Australia and five years with Noranda in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. He spent a year with the contract core drilling subsidiary of Bos Kalis Westminster followed by a year of post-graduate studies at the University of Edinburgh and gained a Diploma in Resource Management in 1980 when he joined A C A Howe International Limited. Since then he has been involved in numerous exploration and evaluation projects concerned with base and precious metals, industrial minerals, coal and coal bed methane and gemstones, in Europe, North and South America, Africa, the Far East and the Russian Federation.

Dr David Patrick BSc, PhD, FIMMM, CEng
Principal Geologist, Director

Dave Patrick gained a BSc in geology at Manchester University in 1967 and a PhD in geochemistry in 1970. Following a three year period with Robertson Research as an exploration geochemist, he worked for six years as an exploration geophysicist with the British Geological Survey. He joined A C A Howe in 1980, since when he has carried out exploration and evaluation projects on a wide variety of commodities for clients in the Americas, East and Western Europe, Africa and the Far East. His multidisciplinary background has proved particularly useful in the design, implementation and assessment of exploration programmes in a variety of geological environments.

Leon McGarry BSc, FGS
Geologist

Leon McGarry graduated from Brunel University in 2005 with a BSc (Hons) in Earth Science and a Diploma in Professional Development. Prior to joining ACA Howe in 2007, Leon worked in Australia in a variety of roles developing his knowledge of the mineral exploration industry. As a Junior Geologist for a successful grassroots exploration company, Leon gained exposure to a variety of projects within the Gawler Craton region in South Australia focusing on Epithermal Gold-Silver and Base Metals and Sedimentary Uranium. Whilst working with the leading provider of GPS positioned gravity surveys in Australia, Leon undertook both large and small scale geophysical survey projects for private and government organizations.

Jim Yates BSc, MSc, MCSM
Geologist

Jim Yates graduated from Keele University with a BSc (Hons) in Earth System Science in 2007 before gaining a NERC funded MSc in Mining Geology from Camborne School of Mines in 2009. During his academic career Jim specialised in ore microscopy, and has gained experience in a variety of analytical techniques including ICP-MS, XRD, XRF and Electronprobe Microanalysis. After the end of his academic studies, Jim undertook a work placement at Exxaro's Rosh Pinah SEDEX mine in Southern Namibia, looking into distribution and genesis of Fe mineralisation within a Zn-Pb orebody. In addition, Jim has been exposed to a variety of deposit types in the field, including porphyry Cu-Mo, Mississippi Valley-type Zn-Pb-Ba, Kuroko-type Cu-Zn-Pb, and porphyry Sn-Cu-Zn. Jim joined ACA Howe in January 2009.

Julian Bennett C Eng
Senior Associate Mining Engineer

Julian Bennett gained a BSc (Engineering) in mining from Imperial College, London in 1964. He is a widely experienced mining professional with over 40 years in the industry. His career has covered the following: mining engineering, mine design, mine planning, mine operations, mine construction, mining consultancy and mine management. He has worked in bauxite, copper, cobalt, gold, chrome, iron ore, nickel, and lead and zinc. He has experience of open pit and underground mining. His career has taken him to Europe, West, Central and Southern Africa, North, Central and South America, Central Asia and Australia. Specific countries include Angola, Australia, Canada, Chile, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Guyana, Honduras, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Lesotho, Macedonia, Peru, Republic of South Africa, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, Uganda, United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Roger Ellis BSc, CEng, MIMMM
Senior Associate Geologist

Roger Ellis holds an honours degree in geology. He graduated in 1964 and spent five years with Selection Trust exploring for diamonds in West Africa (Mali and Sierra Leone). He then joined Charter Consolidated and spent two years in Iran searching for copper, and a year exploring in the UK and Ireland. Roger then spent seven years as a senior scientific officer with the British Geological Survey before joining Mining Journal in 1979. He held various positions, including the editorship for 13 years, and retired from MJ in 2007.

Mike Foster BSc, AusIMM
Senior Associate Geologist

Mike Foster graduated in geology from the University of Tasmania in 1964, commencing exploration work with BHP followed by five years with Pickands Mather International working on a regional geological / stream geochemical survey in northern Western Australia. After working with Mt Lyell he became consultant/ contractor in Kalgoorlie and Perth, servicing clients evaluating and conducting exploration projects, concentrating on nickel and gold. He then worked for Hamersley Iron followed by a five year period spent as local manager/ registered mine manager for Hampton Gold Mining Areas, before returning to consulting and contracting on gold and nickel including a two year contract for Porphyry Gold mines. At Mt Keith, WA., he was part of the team which re-logged 20 years of past and current core/ RC drilling to emerging nickel ore deposition theory, for database compilation. He continued as a consultant until forming a company which led to his current residence in the Philippines, where, he has, for the past ten years, concentrated on Kuroko type multi element prospects/mines, epithermal vein gold, copper-gold porphyry deposits, chromite and industrial minerals. Since joining Howe in 2007, he has reported on a copper gold porphyry deposit in the Philippines Cordilerra and is supervising a grass roots exploration programme on an active tungsten mine in northern Thailand.

Con Gillen BSc, FGS, BA, Med, PhD, C Geol
Senior Associate Geologist and Translator

Cornelius Gillen (Con) has many qualifications in the Geological and translating sectors including PhD in Structural Geology and Metamorphic Petrology (1977) and Translators Guild Professional Diploma with Distinction in Russian and Geology (1981). Con has over 25 years of experience as a technical translator of geological publications from Russian to French and Russian to English.

Neil Holloway BSc, MSc, PhD, FIMMM, CEng
Senior Associate Metallurgist

Neil graduated from Bristol University with BSc (Jt Hons) Chemistry & Geology and MSc Surface Chemistry and Colloids in 1971 and 1972 respectively and from Birmingham University with PhD in Minerals Engineering in 1975. He is a widely experienced mineral processing engineer with knowledge gained from thirteen years in operations (from 1975 to 1988) followed by consultancy (since 1988). His background is in precious and base metals, industrial minerals and fuel minerals and has been gained primarily from mines in Eastern Europe, Kazakhstan, Latin America, Russian Federation and Southern/Central Africa.

Bill Howell BSc (Hons), FAusIMM
Senior Associate Geologist

Bill Howell is an economic geologist, having graduated from Southampton University with a degree in geology in 1966. He has had more than 42 years experience in all aspects of exploration management and mineral project evaluation with major international corporations, as well as small innovative companies, some of which he co-founded and achieved listings through IPO’s on ASX. Bill has studied and explored for mineral deposits around the world, but has specialised mainly in the countries of South East Asia and the Pacific. He has managed and led teams to a number of mineral discoveries in his role of heading overseas exploration for BHP (1968-1981) and as Managing Director of Normandy Mining and Newmont South East Asia exploration (1995-2003). Through his resource management consulting vehicle, Pacific Basin Group, which he formed in 1982, Bill has also provided advice and services to both foreign and local entities in the South East Asian region. He is currently Exploration Director of AIM-listed Triple Plate Junction Plc which has gold and copper exploration interests in Vietnam and Papua New Guinea, and is a non-executive director representing the Dragon Capital Group on the board of TSX-listed Asian Minerals Resources Limited, which is developing the Ban Phuc nickel sulphide deposit in Vietnam. He also serves as Vice-Chairman of the Mining Working Group of the Vietnam Business Forum, and has previously provided written contributions on mineral policy in developing countries to the Chinese and Philippine governments, the Pacific Basin Economic Council and the Ian Clunies Ross Foundation.

Dr Robert Ixer BSc PhD, FSA
Senior Associate Geologist

Rob Ixer gained a BSc in geology at Manchester University in 1969 and a PhD in economic geology in 1972. For the next 30 years he taught mineralogy, petrography and economic geology at the universities of Aston, Birmingham and Leicester whilst publishing close to 100 papers and books including 'An atlas of opaque and ore minerals in their associations'. Much of his research coincides with his mineralogical consulting and major interests include the mineralogy, petrography and parageneses of gold, platinum group metal, copper-silver and lead-zinc deposits. Rob has his own consulting business-Goodprovenance-providing detailed petrographical descriptions for the mining houses but also more recently for the archaeological community.

Tony Jackson BSc, MIMMM, ARSM
Senior Associate Metallurgist

Tony gained an honors degree in Mineral Processing in 1980 from the Royal School Of Mines and over the years has achieved particular experience in froth flotation, dense media separation and gravity. Prior to A C A Howe International, Tony had placements with companies such as Anglo-European Minerals, Europa Mining and Ashover Mining.

Steffen Kalbskopf BSc
Associate Geologist

Steffen Kalbskopf graduated with a BSc in Geology from University College London in 1974. He then gained experience in exploration and mine geologist roles at Anglo American and Consolidated Diamond Mines. This was followed by 8 years in Zimbabwe working as a consultant geologist with the Zimbabwe Geological Survey where he undertook appraisals of gold mines ranging from artisanal workings to 4000 t.p.m. producers. Steffen sat on the Harare District Advisory Board to the Ministry of Mines, assisting with decision making regarding financial and government assistance to small scale and cooperative miners. After relocating to South Africa, Steffen was employed for 6 years as the senior on site geologist at the Eersteling gold mine where he was responsible for running the geology department, including supervision of diamond drilling, grade control and reserve evaluation.

Steffen has over 11 years experience as a consulting geologist and has worked extensively throughout Africa and covered a wide range of commodities in many geological settings. Steffen has authored over 15 publications, chiefly related to gold deposits as well as bismuth, marble and arsenical auriferous toumalinite.

John Milsom BA
Associate Geophysicist

John Milsom gained a BA in Physics from Oxford University in 1961, followed by a diploma in Applied Geophysics at the Royal School of Mines (Imperial College). After six years in Australia with the Bureau of Mineral Resources, in the airborne, engineering and regional gravity sections, he returned to the RSM to complete a PhD, using data collected with the BMR in Papua New Guinea. After completing the PhD he returned to Australia as Chief Geophysicist for Barringer Geosurveys, which ceased operations under the adverse conditions created in the mineral industry by the Whitlam Government. After a brief stint with the Geological Survey in PNG, he returned to the UK and worked as a geophysical consultant, in part as a retained consultant to BP Minerals, but also working for other clients including the UNDP. In 1981 he was asked to found the Exploration Geophysics BSc at Queen Mary College, which transferred to University College London two years later. During his time at UCL he continued consultancy at a reduced level and also headed up research programmes in Southeast Asia (principally Indonesia).. Following retirement in 2004, he has returned to full-time consultancy, with occasional time off for his duties as an Honorary Professor in Geophysics at the University of Hong Kong. Recent projects have involved work in Jamaica, North Korea, India, Madagascar, Eastern Europe and Mozambique. He is author of numerous papers, book chapters and reports, and of 'Field Geophysics', published by John Wiley and now in its Third Edition.

Pat O'Sullivan BSc, MSc
Associate Geologist

Pat graduated with a BSc in Geology from University College Dublin before gaining an MSc in Mineral Resources from Cardiff College, University of Wales in 1996. Pat went on to join ACA Howe as an exploration geologist and was involved in copper, diamond and gold exploration throughout Africa and Europe. Whist working in Australia in Pat gained experience in contaminated land industry and developed his resource geology experience. In the role of Development Geologist for Ready Mix PLC, Ireland, Pat undertook resource exploration and reserve estimation work for aggregate and quarry operations. Pat set up O'Sullivan Scientific Ltd, advising engineers on effluent and storm-water disposal. Pat rejoined ACA Howe in 2009 as a senior associate geologist.

Rick Parker BSc
Senior Associate Geologist

Rick graduated from Newcastle University in 1968 having achieved a BSc in Geology and then later returned in 1993 to complete a diploma in Hydrogeology. Before becoming a Senior Associate Geologist for A C A Howe International, Rick previously worked for companies such as Northgate Exploration Ltd, Cluff Mineral Exploration and Emnex International plc and has spent time in locations such as Peru, Yemen, Niger, Ghana and Mali. Rick has carried out assignments for Howe in Ghana, Peru, Ecuador, Niger, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Ethiopia, Azerbaijan, Papua New Guinea, Botswana, Botswana and Mozambique.

Gary Patrick MAusIMM
Senior Associate Metallurgist

Gary Patrick graduated from Murdoch University in 1980 and has had 16 years in the mining industry. He has worked in all parts of the world however mainly specializes in Central Asia, Former Soviet Union states and in China. He has wide experience in gold, base metals and industrial minerals. Presently Gary focuses on the coordination of metallurgical testwork programs and process flowsheet design. Typically this metallurgical data forms the basis of studies for which he prepares the metallurgy, processing, capital and operating cost estimation sections. Gary has his own consulting business and is familiar with completion of basic engineering design as part of the detailed engineering design works completed by local design institutes. He is also well versed in preparing cashflow models and formulation of project sensitivities.

Nigel Pearson BSc
Senior Associate Mining Engineer

Nigel Pearson graduated from Nottingham University in 1968 with BSc(Hons.) in Mining Engineering. He is a highly skilled mining and management professional, with over 30 years experience overseas in Gold and Copper mining, at all levels in the production and technical areas, covering virtually all mining methods, and predominantly at three of the world's classic deposits, Nchanga (Zambia), Ashanti (Ghana) and Grasberg/Ertsberg (Indonesia). For the last ten years his consulting assignments have taken him to many countries within all of the worlds continents.

Eric Peters BSc, MIMMM, CEng
Senior Associate Geologist

Eric trained as a photogeologist and started his career field mapping with the Malawi Geological Survey. Following a spell working as an exploration geologist with a major mining company he joined Hunting Geology and Geophysics Ltd to specialise in photogeology & remote sensing. This coincided with the launch of the Landsat series of satellites and the development of new radar and airborne sensors and Eric carried out research and development of interpretation and processing techniques, as well as undertaking many exploration and mapping projects particularly in Africa, Middle East & S. America. Since then he has held executive positions with National Remote Sensing Centre Limited (now Infoterra) and Australian Photogeological Consultants Pty Ltd. Together with his work for ACA Howe he has undertaken interpretation projects in Europe, N & S America, Africa, Asia & Australia for most commodities. In 1978 he was jointly awarded the 'Consolidated Goldfields Gold Medal' of the IMM for computer applications to the exploration for diamond in Lesotho.

Andrew Phillips BSc, MSc, MIMMM, CEng, FGS, PrSciNat
Senior Associate Geologist

Andrew Phillips graduated BSc (Hons) from Rhodes University in 1972 and MSc from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1983. He worked for several South African majors and reached senior status in both the mining and exploration arenas. He became a partner in a mining engineering practice (1982-86). He has wide experience in economic geology and mining analysis on base and precious metal, precious stone, coal and some industrial mineral deposits. He has carried out assignments for A C A Howe since March 1996 in Guinea, South Africa, Malaysia, Mexico, Iceland, Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Neil Scott BSc, MIMMM, CEng
Senior Associate Geologist

Neil Scott has over 30 years experience as an economic geologist, most of which has been spent in consultancy. He has worked extensively on due diligence studies, reserve estimations, technical audits and valuations of metallic, energy and industrial minerals deposits and mines. He has considerable experience of working in the CIS and of Russian methods of ore reserve classification and estimation. He has worked for ACA Howe in Kyrgyzstan, Sierra Leone and Sweden.

Felix Lee BSc, MBA, PGeo
President (Toronto) and Senior Geologist

Mr. Lee has been a consulting geologist for A.C.A. Howe International Limited since 1991 and most recently was been appointed Operations Manager for Howe's Toronto and Denver offices. Mr. Lee is an economic / exploration geologist with varied and extensive experience in initiating, developing, conducting and supervising all phases of mineral exploration projects located in North and South America and Africa. Mr. Lee has also completed several evaluation and valuation technical reports that conform to National Instrument 43-101 and former National Policy 2A standards.

Mr. Lee holds a B.Sc. degree from McMaster University and an M.B.A. degree from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and the Schulich School of Business, York University. Mr Lee is a registered member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO), member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS), member of the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG), and a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association.

Daniel Leroux BSc, PGeo
Vice President (Toronto) and Senior Geologist

Mr. Leroux has practiced as an economic geologist with both major exploration / mining companies and since 1993 as a consulting geologist with A.C.A. Howe International Limited. Throughout Mr. Leroux's 15 year career, he has been directly involved in the generation, development and management of many projects ranging from conceptual stages through to advanced and partially developed prospects / deposits. Mr. Leroux has gained a broad range of hands on experience that covers a wide array of commodities, geological, geographical and operational settings. He has designed, managed and worked on numerous grass-roots and / or advanced surface and underground exploration projects for precious metals, alluvial and primary diamond deposits, and for industrial minerals located in Canada, Africa, Europe and South America.

Mr. Leroux also has extensive commissioning, operational and supervision experience with various gravity concentration diamond process plant types such as jig plants, rotary pan plants, DMS plants and diamond recovery equipment such as Flow Sort® X-Ray diamond recovery machines and grease tables.

Mr. Leroux holds a B.Sc. degree (Geology) from Laurentian University and is an M.Sc. candidate with Laurentian University's Mineral Exploration program. Mr. Leroux is a registered member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO), the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS), the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG), the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (CIM) and the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC).

Arshia (Ash) Mantashi BA, PGCGIS
GIS Specialist

The newest member of the A.C.A. Howe International team is Mr. Mantashi, a database and geographic information systems (GIS) specialist. Prior to joining A.C.A. Howe in early 2006, Mr. Mantashi has worked on several advanced GIS and remote sensing projects in Canada, Peru, and Brazil. His main responsibilities included data analysis, technical support and training, satellite image interpretation, project coordination, and project management.

Mr. Mantashi hold a B.A. degree in Environmental Studies from Carleton University, and holds certificates in Geographical Information Systems from the Niagara College of Technology, and Database and Data Analysis from the Toronto College of Technology.

Howard Coopersmith BSc, MSc, PGeo, FSEG
Senior Associate Geologist

Mr. Coopersmith has practiced as an economic geologist with both major exploration / mining companies for over 30 plus years and since 2007 as a consulting geologist with A.C.A. Howe International Limited. Throughout Mr. Coopersmith's 30 year career, he has been directly involved in the generation, development and management of many projects ranging from grassroots (conceptual) stages through to advanced and partially developed prospects / deposits. His work culminated in the discovery of more than 30 kimberlites and lamproites in addition to the discovery of commercial sized diamonds in excess of 28 carats in size. Mr. Coopersmith has gained a broad range of hands on experience that covers a wide array of commodities, geological, geographical and operational settings. Mr. Coopersmith has designed, managed and worked on numerous grass roots and/or advanced surface and underground exploration projects for diamond deposits located in Africa, Australia, Europe, North America and South America.

Mr. Coopersmith is well versed with the various Canadian rules, policies and guidelines with respect to the mining industry such as the "Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects" ("National Instrument 43-101"), the "Standards and Guidelines for Valuation of Mineral Properties" ("CIMVAL"), "CIM Definition Standards on the Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves" ("CIM MRMR"), the "CIM Guidelines for the Reporting of Diamond Exploration Results", as well as CIM's "Estimation of Mineral Resources & Reserves Best Practices Guidelines Specific to Rock Hosted Diamonds" ("CIM MRMR-HRD"). Mr. Coopersmith is also familiar with foreign standards of disclosure for the reporting of mineral resources and mineral reserves such as the "South African Code for Reporting of Mineral Resources and Reserves" (the "SAMREC Code").

Prior to starting his consultancy, Mr. Coopersmith was employed with the following mining companies: Cominco, Diamond Company NL, Ashton Mining Limited, Great Western Diamond Company and Redaurum Limited. Mr. Coopersmith also provides diamond consulting services to AMEC Mining and Metals (on Shore Gold Inc.'s Star Diamond Project) and Pincock, Allen & Holt.

Mr. Coopersmith holds a B.Sc. degree (Geology) and a M.Sc. degree (Geology) from Colorado State University. He is a Professional Geologist with the state of Wyoming, a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists ("SEG"), the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy ("CIM") and the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada ("PDAC").

Peter George MSc, PGeo
Senior Associate Geologist

Mr. George has been a consulting geologist for A.C.A. Howe International Limited since 2005. He is an economic/exploration geologist with varied and extensive experience in initiating, developing, conducting and supervising all phases of efficient and successful mineral exploration, ore reserve audits and calculations and valuations. Throughout Mr. George's 39 year career, he has been directly involved in the evaluation of a number of advanced mineral projects, including ore reserve audits, economic evaluations and legal negotiations.

Mr. George's exploration experience covers all major commodity deposit types: volcanogenic base and precious metals, Mississippi Valley - type stratabound zinc-lead, lode gold, epithermal gold, porphyry copper-molybdenum, Athabaska basin and Elliot Lake type uranium deposits.

Prior to re-joining A.C.A. Howe International Limited, Mr. George was employed from 2002 to 2005 as a Consulting Geologist / Executive for ONTZINC Corporation. From 1996 - 2002, Mr. George was employed as an Associate Consulting Geologist with A.C.A. Howe International Limited. From 1988 - 1995, Mr. George was Vice President - Operations for Laurasia Resources Limited and from 1987 - 1988, was President of Zahavy Mines Limited. From 1979 - 1985, Mr. George was Senior Geologist - Eastern Canada for Getty Mines Limited. From the period 1968 - 1979, Mr. George owned and operated several geological and geophysical consulting firms. From 1966 - 1968, Mr. George was employed as a Field Geologist and Resident Geologist with the Ontario Department of Mines and from 1960 to 1965, he was employed as a junior geological assistant for both the Geological Survey of Canada and the Ontario Department of Mines.

Mr. George holds both a B.Sc. degree from Queen's University. Mr. George is a registered member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO), a Fellow of the Geological Association of Canada, a member of the Society of Economic Geologists and a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada.

Pat Hannon MASc, PEng, FCIM
Senior Engineer

Pat Hannon received a Senior Mining Technician diploma from the Haliebury School of Mines in 1968, a Bachelor's in Applied Science from Queens University in 1972, and a MASc from Dalhousie University in 1987. He previously worked as Atlantic Regional Manager with Esso Resources from 1972 to 1983, as Manager of Mining Engineering with the Nova Scotian Department of Natural Resources (1983 to 1987), and as Chief Mining Engineer (Canada) with ACA Howe (1987 to 1989).

His experience in the industry includes mineral exploration management, production (underground and surface) and regulatory work with the Departments of labour and Natural Resources. His projects at MineTech have included acting as expert witness for Seabright from 1988 to 1992, managing the Bishop magnetite mine in Stephenville, Newfoundland from 1994 to 1995, assisting both the government of Nova Scotia and the government of Malaysia in drafting underground coal mine safety regulations, and providing independent mine valuation reports on sites around the world. He is the prime liaison between MineTech and its clients. His duties include working on engineering projects, delegating work to other members of the team, reviewing project work and progress, and promoting MineTech at trade shows and conferences.

Patrick lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and cultivates an interest in painting and amateur astronomy while away from work.

Associate Metallurgical Engineer

Mr. Hayden has been a consulting mining engineer for A.C.A. Howe International Limited since 2002. Mr. Hayden is a metallurgical engineer with 35 years of experience in operations, engineering, and management in underground and open pit operations in Africa and Canada. In addition, he has been consulting worldwide for over 10 years. A former mine manager, Mr. Hayden has extensive experience in mine design, budgeting and cost control, due diligence, preparation of feasibility studies, and preparation of qualifying reports. He specializes in precious metals, base metals, industrial minerals, and iron ore.

Mr. Hayden holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. Mr. Hayden is a registered member of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) and a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (CIM).

Sherri Hodder PGeo
Associate Geologist

Ms. Hodder has been a consulting geologist since 2003 and joined A.C.A Howe International in 2005. She is an economic/exploration geologist with experience at the grassroots level in diamond, gold and base metal projects. Ms. Hodder has experience initiating, conducting and supervising at the early phases of mineral exploration and specializes in diamond exploration/evaluation, and prior to joining Howe, Ms. Hodder was directly involved with several high-potential diamond exploration projects in Alberta, Ontario, Nunavut and NWT.

Ms. Hodder holds a joint B.Sc. degree in Geology/Geography (Honors/Geology) from Memorial University of Newfoundland (1997) and a M.Sc. degree from the University of Calgary with a Specialization in Economic Geology (2003). Ms. Hodder is a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (CIM) and the Calgary Mineral Exploration Group (MEG) .

Robert Kuehnbaum MSc, PGeo
Senior Associate Geologist

Mr. Kuehnbaum has been a consulting geologist for 20 years of his 32-year career in mineral exploration, and has been an Associate for A.C.A. Howe International Limited since 1995. He is an economic geologist with varied and extensive experience in initiating, developing, conducting and supervising all phases of mineral exploration from grass-roots to deposit delineation, mineral resource estimation, numerous property/project evaluations and valuations, and legal negotiations. He has also been involved in extensive reviews of mineral exploration data.

Mr. Kuehnbaum was employed as a geologist with Union Carbide Exploration Corporation in Canada, Brazil and Portugal between 1974 and 1980. As Project Manager with Canadian Occidental Petroleum Ltd. between 1980 and 1984, he was responsible for the company's extensive mineral landholdings, in the Canadian Cordillera, including project supervision and generation. From 1984-1986, he was employed by Kennco Explorations, (Canada) Ltd. with responsibilities of the company's precious metals (gold) exploration projects in Ontario, western Canada and the Maritime provinces. In early 1986, Mr. Kuehnbaum established his own consulting practice. Over the years, he has acquired experience in tungsten, base metals (including copper-nickel-PGEs), gold, silver, diamonds, uranium, and industrial minerals.

Mr. Kuehnbaum holds both a B.Sc. degree and M.Sc. degree from the University of Toronto, Canada. He is a registered member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO) and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGGS), and a member of the Society of Economic Geologists and the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada.

Katya Masun HBSc, MSc, PGeo
Associate Geologist

Katya is a resource/exploration geologist and comes to ACA Howe with significant experience in diamond laboratory, exploration and evaluation projects. Katya's professional experience also includes nickel, copper and iron ore exploration projects around the world.

Katya holds an Honours BSc and MSc (Geology) from Lakehead University, having studied kimberlite petrology under Professor Roger Mitchell. Her career comprises 14 years of well-rounded experience in diamond exploration and evaluation, having been involved in projects both in Canada and internationally. This includes leading Rio Tinto's mineral processing laboratory in Thunder Bay to ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation as Quality Manager, conducting early phases of mineral exploration and leading geological teams during project evaluation as a Project Geologist. Katya has authored several technical papers on these activities and since early 2008 utilized her diamond exploration experience as Senior Resource Geologist with Vaaldiam Resources Ltd. Her role involved interpreting geology and directing exploration strategies on kimberlite and alluvial diamond projects, as well as conducting economic studies and preparing NI 43-101 compliant resource calculations and technical reports.

Katya is registered as a practicing member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO) and a fellow of the Geological Association of Canada.

Stephen Mlot PEng
Senior Mining Engineer

Stephen Mlot is a senior mining engineer with extensive experience in all aspects of the mining industry including early stage exploration, advanced exploration, mine engineering and mine development, project planning and evaluation, and mine-related environmental projects including mine closure planning.

He began his mining career 31 years ago in Snow Lake, Manitoba, and has since worked in every Canadian Province and Territory, as well as around the world. He has been involved in nickel, base metals, uranium, silver, gold, diamonds, potash and other industrial minerals.

Rod O'Leary BSc
Associate Geologist

Mr. O'Leary joined A.C.A. Howe International Limited as a consulting geologist in June 2008. He is an economic/exploration geologist with 17 years of varied experience (international and domestic, exploration and mining) in several geological environments with respect to geology, climates and culture : Proterozoic volcanogenic massive sulphides; shear-hosted, narrow vein, mesothermal gold deposits; Cu-Au porphyry, skarns and epithermal deposits / mineralization; kimberlite ore body development and uranium exploration. Mr. O'Leary also has experience in managing and supervising both large diameter RC drilling programs and sample processing through DMS process plants for advance staged diamond exploration programs.

Prior to joining Howe, Mr. O'Leary was employed from June 2006 to July 2008 with DeBeers Canada as a Mine Geologist at the Snap Lake Mine located in the NWT and from June 2005 to June 2006 as Senior Project Geologist with Shore Gold Inc. ("Shore") where his tasks and duties included the day to day management of the various geological work programs, drill supervision, geological core logging, and the collection of various samples (i.e. geochemical, microdiamond, ODS) for Shore's on-going advanced exploration program on both it's Star Kimberlite and FALC diamond projects. From 1989 to 2005, Mr. O'Leary worked various mining companies such as Granges Inc. (1989-1995), Aur Resources Inc. (1995-1996), PT Freeport Indonesia (1996-1998), and Claude Resources Inc. (2002 - 2003).

Mr. O'Leary holds a B.Sc. degree in Geology from the University of Saskatchewan (1985). Mr. O'Leary is a registered member of the Geological Association of Canada ("GAC").

David Orava MEng, PEng
Mining Engineer

David Orava's 29 years of industry experience spans underground and open pit mine engineering, mine operations, mine contracting, mine permitting and consulting projects. He has completed a range of projects for base metal, gold, uranium, iron ore, diamond and industrial mineral producers, and lenders and others.

He earned his Bachelor and Master degree (mineral economics) in mining engineering at McGill University and worked at mining operations; for mine contractors including J.S. Redpath and Dynatec; and in consulting before founding his company and becoming an Associate Senior Mining Engineer at A.C.A. Howe International Ltd.

Doug Roy MASc, PEng
Senior Engineer

Doug Roy received his Bachelors of Mining Engineering in 1997, and his Masters of Applied Science in Geostatistical Resource Estimation in 2000.

His duties include mine planning, design, optimization, and evaluation. Recently, completed a National Instrument 43-101-compliant feasibility report for Acadian Gold Corp's Scotia Mine (the past-producing Gays River zinc-lead mine in Nova Scotia, Canada). This mine started production in May 2007.

Ian Trinder MSc, PGeo
Senior Associate Geologist

Ian obtained his B.Sc. (Honours) Geology from the University of Manitoba in 1983 and a Masters in Geology from the University of Western Ontario in 1989. Ian's career has developed through field and project management experience in the exploration for volcanogenic base-metal massive sulphide, komatiite-hosted nickel, epithermal gold and Archean and Proterozoic-hosted gold deposits in glaciated, desert and tropical weathered terrains. Ian has also participated in the exploration and evaluation of a variety of other mineral deposit types including volcanic and collapse breccia pipe hosted uranium, porphyry copper-gold, diamonds, platinum-group metals, tungsten, barite, fluorite, graphite, dolomite, limestone aggregate and sand and gravel. Ian has set-up, implemented and maintained a digital data management systems to support corporate and exploration offices, and is skilled in GIS, image processing and mining software skills to compile, integrate and interpret exploration datasets including: drill hole, geology, geophysics, geochemistry and satellite imagery.

Ian is a registered member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO) and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of Manitoba (APEGM), and a member of the Society of Economic Geologists and the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada.

Gord Watts BEng, PEng
Senior Associate Mining Engineer, Financial Analyst

Mr. Watts is a P. Eng. with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining from the University of Toronto. Mr. Watts has over 42 years experience in mining exploration, mine operation, mine engineering, project evaluation, feasibility studies and financial evaluation. Mr. Watts' relevant experience includes the preparation of over 250 financial models during the past 28 years, skills in tax modelling, risk analysis and Monte Carlo simulations, construction of numerous mining cash flows models for mining consulting companies e.g. ACA Howe International Limited; Watts, Griffis and McOuat; Scott Wilson Roscoe Postle Associate; MPH; Derry Michener Booth and Wahl; and prepararation of reports on mineral properties throughout Canada, the United States of America and internationally.

Mr. Watts is well versed with the various Canadian rules, policies and guidelines with respect to the mining industry such as the "Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects" ("National Instrument 43-101"), the "Standards and Guidelines for Valuation of Mineral Properties" ("CIMVAL"), and "CIM Definition Standards on the Mineral Resources and Mineral Reserves" ("CIM MRMR"). Mr. Watts is also familiar with foreign standards of disclosure for the reporting of mineral resources and mineral reserves such as the "South African Code for Reporting of Mineral Resources and Reserves" (the "SAMREC Code").

Mr. Watts is a graduate from the University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario with a B.A.Sc. degree in Mining Engineering (1966).
