Corporate Profile

A C A Howe International Limited originally commenced operations as a geological and mining consultancy service in Canada in 1961. The UK office was opened in 1978 and the two offices maintain close co-operation on many projects in order to augment expertise and offer a more efficient service to clients where appropriate.

In addition to our full-time technical and support staff, some of whom have been with the group for many years and provide invaluable project continuity, we also have a number of long-standing Associates who provide assistance and particular expertise on specific projects on a regular basis. Visit the personnel section for a list of full time staff and associates.

Howe has now provided expertise on well over one thousand projects for the minerals industry at many levels of development, ranging from area selection and grass roots exploration for mining companies to reserve audits and feasibility studies for financial institutions. There have been many developments in the minerals industry during the course of this extensive work, both in the geological understanding of mineral deposits and in the tools at our disposal, and Howe personnel keep up to date in these for optimum and cost-effective application to our clients' projects.

Peter Howe

Peter Howe is a mining engineer who graduated with a B.Sc. at Imperial College, and an A.R.S.M. at the Royal School of Mines, London, England. He attended schools in England and Australia. He is a registered Professional Engineer of Ontario, and a Fellow of the Canadian and Australian Mining and Metallurgical Societies. Mr. Howe's experience includes the management of small gold mines in Zimbabwe prior to becoming a resident of Canada in 1995.

In 1960 he commenced consulting for exploration companies in Canada and founded the consulting firm of A.C.A. Howe International Limited ("HI") in Toronto. During the ensuing years, HI expanded with the opening of offices in Australia, England, South Africa, and Indonesia.

Mr. Howe also founded Howe Exploration and Development Co. Ltd. ("HED") to operate as a mining contractor. HED's main purpose was to re-open old mines, drive tunnels and ramps to facilitate the exploration of ore deposits prior to a feasibility study.

During his career as a consultant Mr. Howe was in charge of exploration that resulted in several producing mines, including Tantalum Mining Corporation of Canada's Bernic Lake tantalum mine, the Jabiluka uranium deposit in Australia, the Wheal Jane tin mine in Cornwall, England, and three gold producers in Indonesia; the Mt. Muro, Ampalit, and Mirah mines, plus an alluvial diamond deposit in the Central African Republic.
