Base Metals
Although the technological and cultural shift to plastics and fibre optics has affected certain of the base metal markets, copper, lead, zinc, aluminium, nickel and tin continue to form the mainstay of the extractive minerals industry and consequently form an important sector of the exploration business, particularly with the growth of the Chinese and Indian demand. Aluminium is dominated by a few multi-national vertically integrated companies with little scope for the involvement of consultants, however our geologists have extensive experience in many different geological environments of all phases of the exploration and evaluation of the other base metals.
